According to the statement issued by the media wing of the Prime Minister’s Office, a review meeting on the petroleum relief package for low-income petroleum consumers was held in Lahore under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
In the meeting, a petroleum relief package of up to 50 rupees per liter will be given to the poor people.
He directed that the practical program of petroleum subsidy should be completed as soon as possible and all relevant institutions should formulate a comprehensive strategy with mutual cooperation for effective implementation of petroleum subsidy. He said that motorcycles, rickshaws and small vehicles are used by low-income people, so petroleum subsidy will directly lead to the relief of poor people.
